Viking River Cruise

Has anyone been on a Viking Cruise? We will take a Danube Christmas Market Cruise but Grand Circle will not publish their 2006 schedule until April, May, or June! So, Viking may be our only choice. Itinerary is the same, boats look very good, price is higher.

Our daughter went with Viking in Russia and said everything was just fine -- the boat, the food, the arrangements, etc. Have you checked the Grand Circle web site? I've been getting literature about 2006 river cruises from them for what seems like months.

Thanks, USNR, for the response. Have checked the GCT site and phoned. For some reason they are unable to firm up schedule for this cruise in 2006 until late spring. And, we really do not want to wait and miss our desired dates.

Grand Circle allows you to prereserve for trips that are not yet scheduled. The release says that it is for 2007 trips, but call them to see if you can do it for the Christmas Market cruises, as the have yet to post dates. It requires a $500.00 refundable deposit for a river cruise.

Hi we went on the viking river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. It was very good. The boat was great. We traveled at night except through the scenic areas. They gave us lots of free time at cities but also had tours etc. for people who wanted them.
