View at Hotel des Deux Continents

Hi,

I am going to be staying at the Hotel des Deux Continents in Paris this weekend. I have a choice of a single room with a view of the street (Rue Jacob) or a view of the courtyard. Would somebody please give me a recommendation - street or courtyard?

Thank you.

While the Rue Jacob is a street with nice hotels and interesting shops (and once home to Colette), I'm not sure it's that great to look out on. I stayed at the Deux Continents in 1994 and don't remember the courtyard, but that's what I'd recommend just because it's likely to be quieter than a room on the street (even though Rue Jacob isn't that busy/noisy.)

We had one of the two rooms on the top floor with a balcony, facing Rue Jacob, but these were both doubles, not singles.

In any case, no matter what room you choose, I think you'll like the hotel and that neighborhood is wonderful; the rue de Buci street market is only a few blocks away.
