Vienne, Perouges or town near Lyon Airport
 

We will be leaving France from the Lyon Airport in July. Can anyone recommend a charming town to spend the night in? I was thinking of either Perouges (possibly Ostellerie du Vieux Perouges) or Vienne (La Pyramide). Any comments, suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

I've been to Peruges several times and enjoy our stay. I have heard good things about the La Pyramide but nothing first hand to tell.

La Pyramide at Vienne would be lovely, as would the food. Vienne is a very interesting town to visit if Roman architecture interests you. There's the Temple of Livia (remember her from "I, Claudius?" Looks like Claudius kept his word about making her a goddess after she died.) and a good theater, for starters.
