Vienna to Prague

A friend and I will be taking 9 days to travel Vienna and Prague. Is this enough time, too short or too long? We are planning on flying to Vienna from Turkey and taking a train/driving to Prague. Any recommendations on how to do this? Also, good areas for hotels in both cities? Thank you

Forgot to mention, we will be taking the trip in mid-October. How would the weather be?

Temps in Oct should be pleasant but do be prepared for rain.

Train from Vienna to Prague is easy and fast.

You can see quite a bit of both cities in 9 days.

For hotel - what is your budget and what amenities do you want?

I would take the train between Vienna and Prague; very easy and relaxing.

It will probably be damp and perhaps rainy. Bring water proof shoes and jacket. Oh, and gloves.

@nytraveler our budget would be no more than $100 a night for 2 people and as long as there is wifi, breakfast and a close metro/tram/transportation, we wouldn't have a problem.

Yes, that is long enough and is not too long. The train from Vienna to Prague is great! Simple. Vienna is my second favorite city, next to Paris. Prague is absolutely beautiful!
