Vienna to Bratislava to Budapest
Next summer we are planning on spending 1 1/2 days in Vienna staying with points at Courtyard Vienna Messe, then I would like to visit Bratislava on our way over to Budapest, staying then staying that night at the Fraser Residence Budapest, where we will spend three nights. Based on what I am seeing I think the bus might be the best option. However I have not a clue how to do this and what the schedules might be.
We plan on getting an early bus out of Vienna and then going over to Budapest later in the day so we can spend some time in Bratislava. Do you have any specific suggestions for me? Thanks for your help. |
Bratislava has only a very small pleasant centre, I'd dash by and get to Budapest.

In the case you should plan to visit Vienna, 1 1/2 days wouldn't by far not be enough for a somewhat decent visit. Bratislava can be reached from Vienna by train, bus or hydrofoil.

If I were going from Vienna to Bratislava, I would take the bus from the erdburg metro stop to the Novy Most bus station. I go to Budapest from brat by train.
Do you plan to overnight Bratislava? Or just look around for a few hours and leave? I know both cities we'll..... and love them both. many do not love Bratislava as I do. |
Sorry... I know them well.... Crazy iPad auto correct.

I liked Bratislava and would certainly spent some time there.

Here's a thread from yesterday that asked about visiting Bratislava for a few hours:

Thank sll of you for the information. I love the small towns, one of my favorite was Chesky Kromlov for example and I LOVE quaint! Thank you all!

Are you going in and out on the same day? Do you need to store luggage? If so, you need to get your logistics right.
