Some people like apartments and some people like hotels or pensions, it depends on you, number of people, and length of stay. In case you don't know, pensions are small, family run hotels that include breakfast. I have heard of Pension Nossek, and believe it is well-regarded.

I've stayed at Pension Nossek. The location is wonderful and the staff was very helpful.

we loved pension suzanne... price is great...hallways look sterile and turned us off at first... but charming rooms, really clean, nice big windows and comfy beds. it is 1 minute walk from the opera house so location is wonderful. about $150us or under per night.

I'll be staying at Pension Suzanne next month. Thanks, kawh, for posting. It sounded like a good fit for me, but it's always great to hear from someone who has been there.
