The bus to the Sievering area is the 39A best reached by taking the streetcar # 38 from Scottentor on the Ring to the stop Sieveringerstrasse or Oberdoblng.
However , relatively few heurigers will be found there with varied opening dates.
The areas of Neustift am Walde, Nussdorf and Stammersdorf much better for finding numerous heurigers.

I think the Konig von Ungarn is a very good Vienna hotel.

perfect city center location near Stephansdom. It has a very nice bar, sitting area with glass roof for a quiet coffee or drink.
The restaurant is OK but overpriced in my opinion. Numerous cafe and restaurant choices nearby so this is no problem.

For Danube views in Durnstein without the need to climb to the ruins above-

In Stift Durnstein - with the famous blue bell tower - you will find a good viewing terrace for river photo making.
Entrance for the Church etc 2,60 euro but worth it to me.
The climb to the ruins is not really easy - 15 minutes or a little more - steep stone path in places- time bettsr spent in the village.

The Austrai also a good place in my opinion- less expensive, clean and quiet.

We returned from the Czech Republic yesterday. In Prague we stayed at the Pension Dientzenhofer located in Mala Strana. This was our second stay there. We like it because Mala Strana is quieter than Old Town, the pension has charm, and the owner and staff are wonderful, attentive and friendly. There were 4 of us so we had a 2-room suite with private bath and the cost was approximately $200 per night including breakfast.

We rented a car and drove to Cesky Krumlov, Telc and Karlovy Vary. Make sure your car has a sticker (road stamp) for Czech Republic. Our rental car came with the sticker (on the windshield) because we rented it in Prague. If you rent the car in a different country, you may have to purchase one before you enter Czech REpublic.

In Cesky Krumlov, we stayed at Zlaty Andel, right on the square and we loved this hotel, too. We had a 2-room suite with a large bathroom, (one room for toilet & one room for shower, tub, & sink). The price was also about $200 including a hot & cold breakfast buffet, which was delicious.

In Cesky Krumlov, we also went on a wooden raft ride on the Vlatava at night. The scenerey was beautiful and it was a hilarious ride!!! I plan on writing my trip report today & will hopefully post it soon if that will help. Do you have any other questions about Czech Republic?
