Vienna Hotels-Help

We will be spending 4 nights in Vienna at the end April. We have the option of 3 hotels that are in what we believe to be a good central location. However, as this is our first trip to Vienna we aren't sure. Any comments about the quality and location of these hotels; Mercure Nestroy, Sofitel Belvedere or Pension Barich would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried to do a search here? There has been previous postings about Veinna hotels....

I just returned from a stay in Vienna at Sofitel Belvedere. I was able to walk just about anywhere I wanted - from St. Stephen's to the Belvedere to great shopping. Nice room, good service. I would recommend it. I am not familiar with the other two.

We stayed at the Hotel Wandl at Petersplatz last June and were delighted by the service and location (a couple of streets from St. Stephen's). They were able to get us tickets for the Staatsoper (The Merry Widow), and provided umbrellas on one rainy afternoon.

We also stayed at the Wandl last summer for 2 nights. We liked the location, our room and the service very much indeed. We had a larg room for about $174. USD per night. It was a very professional run hotel.
