Has anyone stayed at Hotel Konig von Ungarn and Kaiserin Elizabeth? I have read glowing reports for them individually and now don't know which to choose. A comparison from someone who has experience with both would be nice.Thanks

I've never stayed at either one, although I have a great recommendation if you want it (Pensione Pertschy)! But just wondering...have you tried checking tripadvisor.com to get the ratings/feedback on either hotel? I have gotten some great advice on where to stay/not to stay by checking tripadvisor before booking hotels. I just thought I would make this suggestion since I stumbled on your message and noticed that nobody responded.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I have stayed at Pertschy before and it was nice but I wanted a treat and figured one of the hotels would provide that. I had not thought of Tripadviser. Good idea!!

I've stayed in both---Konig von Ungarn many times, and Kaiserin Elisabeth once. You can logically conclude that I like KVU more than KE, and you'd be right. I don't exactly know what it is, except that to me KVU seems more like a homey place but with luxury touches, while KE seems more like just another hotel. But they are both nice. I would guess without checking that KVU today is more expensive, and if so you would have to decide if the added expense is worth it. For me, it's worth it. Good luck.

Thank you, Wayne. I followed Tracy's advice and checked Tripadvisor. The reports I saw there together with your recommendation made me decide in favor of Konig von Ungarn. Have already booked there!
