Can anyone recommend a hotel in Vienna that's under 60euro? (for Jan). Thanks
|
Are you looking for a single room? Check out the Admiral Hotel's website. My husband and I have stayed there a couple of times and really like the location and the price. It's behind the Museum Quartier just off the Ringstrasse and Mariahilferstrasse within a short walk to the UBahn and Trams. The rooms are a good size and are nicely furnished and clean. They also have a pretty good buffet breakfast.
The website price for a single is 65 - 75 Euros, but if you contact them directly you can probably get it cheaper, especially for January. http://www.admiral.co.at/index1.htm |
We stayed at Pension Hargita last year. Cheap, clean, even "cute" in a simple way.
The following links to the eurocheapo site description-there are other good choices on that site: http://www.eurocheapo.com/vienna/lis...on/hargita.asp |
The Fuerstenhof is a great place:
http://hotel-fuerstenhof.com/default.htm Large buffet breakfast is included and I think they still offer a 10% reduction if you book over the net. Great staff and close to all transportation. We loved our stay there. |
Thnaks. I booked the sister hotel to the admiral, Hotel Stalehner for 60 euro. Still not sure where it is, but their site says it's conveinent.
|
Well, not to be cynical, but I would expect them to say that it's convenient.
How long will you be in Vienna? If you are only there for a short time, I'm not sure you want to spend a big chunk of your time just traveling from the hotel to the sights. Was the Admiral that much more than the Stalehner? |
The admiral was about 100. The first price on the website is for a single room. It's been a little overwhelming trying to book 5 cities. I still can't find the Stalehner. Think I found something closer for the same price. If I understand it correctly, it's right behind City Hall. Doesn't seem that far from the Admiral.

Obviously from your reply, you are looking to book a double room. I wasn't clear on that. 60 Euro won't get you a lot in Vienna I'm afraid.
That said, if your plans are firm, Expedia has a few really good hotel deals in Vienna for January. Problem is, you have to prepay in full for your stay. |
There are also good deals on Priceline - see www.biddingfortravel.com - and some bids have been less than $50, which probably means a total rate of less than $60 with taxes and fees.

Thanks. Did find a pension for 47euro.
|
Please post info on the inexpensive pension you found.
|
Pension Columbia Kochgasse 9, 1080 Wien. Found it thru inhotels.com.
|
Forgot to mention, inhotels.com was cheaper than the actual Pension Columbia site. Don't know the address, just did a general search.
|
I just checked the Pension Columbia website and they list the rate for a double at 47 Euro.
|
Just wanted to say that we are at the Pension Columbia right now, and couldn't be happier. We are a 5 minute walk from the U2 line, and it was a $8 cab ride from the main train station. The room is fantastic. High ceilings, wood floors, standard american double size bed and a futon, desk with mini bar, armoire, and a big (by European standards) modern, seems brand new, bathroom. Did I mention free internet service? All this for 47 euro. So recommend this place, and will return.

Thanks for posting your opinion. It always great to get feedback! Enjoy Vienna and everything else.

Can any one recommend a nice clean hotel/pension near vienna airport or a hotel close to transportation that leads to the airport. As we are staying only one night in vienna before our flight back.
thanks |
