Vienna Hotel Choice
We will be in Vienna for in early October. We are considering the Hotel Mailberger Hof and BW Das Tigra. Both cost approx 130Euro/night.
I’m looking for central location, easy access to public transportation and easy access from the airport. Any comments about either place? Any other suggestions in this price range? Thanks for your help. |
We stayed in the Mailbergerhof several years ago. found it clean and pleasant (they were redoing their breakfast room at the time)and the location unbeatable. Enjoy.

We stayed at the BW das Tigra and loved it. Our room was large, nicely decorated in a art deco style, very clean and had very good en-suite facilities. The buffet breakfast was among the best we have experienced - food was of high quality, large choice and the best hot chocolate we had in Vienna. The lobby is nothing special, somewhat businesslike, and the street is ok but also nothing special. One thing that I appreciated is the Mozart provenance of the building, although most of the hotel is an addition. He and Leopold Mozart lived in that building when he came to Vienna as a boy for his first concert and he later returned as an adult.
The hotel is within the ring and in easy walking distance of a central tram station and other public tranportation. One thing though, my observations pertain to the main hotel. They also have an annex and I have heard some negatives about it. |
Have you thought about using Priceline? I've had the Bristol a few times though them - for approx 100 euros!

Thanks so much for your replies. This is just the kind of information I was looking for.

hi,
just booked into NH atterseehaus suites which is giving a good deal(below 100 euros).it is however in mariahilferstrasse close to westbanhof.i choose it as it is close to a subway and spacious suites compared to small double rooms in city centre and i needed aircon as aug is warm. |
