Vienna
Hello everybody,
next week I am going to Vienna for 2 days. Can you suggest a nice, traditional, local place for eating? Also, few things to see :) I mention that I am not the classical tourist with a checklist. I prefer walking for kilometers and take the pulse of the city :) Thank you :) |
Figelmuller is a great place to eat probably the best viennies schnitzel. It is best to book a table in advance otherwise you can wait outside something like 20 minutes or more.
I warmely recommend visiting the Belvedere Palace. Beautiful place and a great museum. Vienna is a small city. Everything is in a walking distance so you can walk along the Ring passing throug the Burggarten, Volksgarten or the Stadtpark. |
For traditional as representing a regional cuisine go to Stomach whose menu evolved from the cooking of Styria: https://www.facebook.com/Stomach-Wien-140607576010195/

Right in the city center, I stumbled upon the Roman Museum while exploring and loved it. The remnants of a Roman garrison, the small museum is located below today's street level and as you descend the stairs to street level of 2000 years ago it gives one a clear understanding of the layers of civilization built up over the centuries with the sound of modern traffic passing overhead. Recommended. https://www.wienmuseum.at/en/locatio...mermuseum.html

Thank you for all the answers. Is there any restaurant/taverna with live traditional music? Well, I am coming from Greece and me and my friends we are going all the time to this kind of small, old places with good, traditional food and live singers that tourist have no idea exist ;)) I don't know if in Vienna they have something like this :)
