VIE layover - what to do?

We have a 5 hour layover at VIE before a connecting flight to Dubrovnik. Is this enough time to take the CAT into Vienna for brunch?

I think there is time, as there is many ways how to reach the center from the airport...the best is for sure the CAT (around 16 return)or the S-Bahn (around 6 euros return), check on www.oebb.at and search for connections between Airport and "Wien Mitte".
It brings you directly in the center! I would suggest a typical Viennese café which is around the corner...you can hang out a bit, enjoy some Austrian fare (Viennese breakfast or lunch+ try their sacher) and maybe walk to the st.stephan before going back to the airport! This is the café/restaurant which I'm suggesting: http://www.spottedbylocals.com/vienn...ffee-tradition

A nice alternative for going or coming back: The Postbus from the airport to Schwedenplats/Morzinplatz, down by the river, takes 20 minutes and gives you a nice walk up to (or down from) Stephansplatz, schedule at www.oebb.at/pv/busplan2009/1273.pdf

But all this is at the airport website - just use google.

Great, thank you for the advice. We'll definitely plan on leaving the airport and I'll post our experience when we return.

We took the CAT into Vienna during our 5 hour layover. It was easy, great to walk around, and we had a great lunch. I'm so glad we did not sit in VIE for that time as the airport is pretty boring.
