victoria station area versus Gower St in Bloomsbury
Flying into Gatwick, debating on which of these areas to stay in. Spending 2 nights taking Eurostar to Paris, then will be returning to London for 5 nights. Should I choose Victoria station area or Gower St in Bloombury for a hotel?

To stay in, probably Bloomsbury. There's nothing wrong with the area around Victoria, but it's a lot less interesting than Bloomsbury, which has more restaurants (particularly if you like Indian food), bookstores and interesting sites. The Victoria Station area isn't far from Chelsea, but for the most part is kind of a standard commercial zone.

Thanks for the info martytravels will take your info into consideration. From what I read I felt Bloomsbury was the better choice, but I was also thinking about arriving from Gatwick making connections to Gower St being tired from flight. Gower St would be a direct ride on the northern line for 7am Eurostar which would be good.

I stayed on Gower St a couple years ago. It's a noisy busy street, so make sure you get a high and or rear room. The tube station was a bit of a hike too, from where I was staying. The neighborhood was okay, but nothing memorable.
