That's a mess on the Tube, requiring at least one transfer.
You can get directly to Victoria on a bus (see link below for legend). #16 stops at EA, EB, EC, ED, and EH. #36 and 436 stop at ED, EH, and P. http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/Dow...areRoad_CL.pdf |
The hotel's about 80 yards from two different tube stations, both called Edgware Rd.
The Circle/District Line station, in Chapel St opposite, has direct trains to Victoria. Personally, I'd get the bus, because the Circle Line can be unreliable. But since the problem is the points on the anticlockwise route into Edgware Rd, once you're on a train towards Victoria it's OK. |
Take a black taxi. It's a £8 ride and very scenic. And the drivers always have something interesting to stay. My last driver gave me a book. Just because he had finished with it and I had asked him what he thought about it. OR -- you could ask the concierge to point you towards the 436 bus. DON'T TAKE the TUBE -- especially with luggage. Getting up and down the stairs is tough for you and also really awkward for those of us who are simply trying to get to work...

If you're on a budget and won't mind schlepping the luggage, try tube or bus.
If travelling during the morning rush hour (8:20-9:30am weekdays), avoid using the bus. Edgeware Rd can get clogged. If carrying lots of luggage, won't mind spending a bit more (£8-10 sounds fare guess), take a cab. Tell the driver if you're taking Gatwick Express so he can drop you off on the closest entrance. |
