Steve's recommendation re:yogurt should not slip by without note. It's the greatest way to acclimate your system to local bacteria, etc. No matter what your digestive system is doing, it will benefit from having the local cultures found in local yogurt.

Fibercon and Metamucil are good suggestions, and are not medicine. They are natural fiber.

A lot of doctors recommend a daily dose for those who have constipation often.

You can get Metamucil in individual packs at many pharmacies.

Its a gentle laxative, so best to begin daily use before you leave.
No caffeine on plane; carry bottled water with you [my fanny pack had place for it] plus fruit. Our hotel had great breakfast buffets and husband and I took one piece for a morning or afternoon snack. Usually have a problem; with above and all that walking was o.k.

Cascara Sagrada pills. You can get them at any health food store. It takes about 12-24 hours to work but works gently and efficiently.

I bought some Fiberco pills & used this weekend for this very problem. Can I carry Fiberco on the plane? The box is opened, but the pills are still in their individual slots.
