VERSAILLES / Tuesday or Saturday??
 

Hello.....I will be in Paris in May (first time in Europe by myself) and plan a day at Versailles..take the metro and buy the entrance online.

On Tuesday 17 they have the guided tour of the Private Apartments of the King and the Musical Gardens and
on Saturday 21 there are no guided tours but they have the Fountain Show and some Saturdays you have the Equestrian Show Academy : the visits...but not on Saturday 21
Would love the Equestrian visit but I called and they told me there are no visits and that they might add a Guided Tour.
Any recommendations...? Musical or Fountain?

They use to say Versailles was crowded on Tuesdays because the Louvre and other major draw museums in Paris proper were closed that day?

dolores - as long as you get to Versailles before it opens, you'll be fine on Tuesday. The tour groups don't arrive before around 10h30. Avoid Saturday, because everyone goes then.

Hi guys..thanks a lot..to fuzzbucket, palenQ, bigruss, did as I was told..booked Tuesday..but due to strike had to go change to thursday!..had pre booked the day and the guided tour which even with the strike I was able to do it..!! gladly I went on a weekday and it was even packed with people...no wonder..as I found Versailles out of this world!..and the gardens!!.. entered 1030 left at 5.30 pm!!!.. thank you all!..
