Versailles Fountains
Has anyone here gone to Les Grandes Eaux Musicales at Verailles? I have a reservation, and was curious about where it starts. . . it seems you walk along with the display? Just want to have my logistics lined up. Thank you!

Basically, you walk around the gardens while music is being played. It starts so to speak at the entrance to the gardens.
There are specific times the fountains are running. Due to the amount of water, they don't run them the entire day or every fountain at the same time. The schedule according to their website: 11am-12pm 11:15am-11:45am 3:30pm-5pm The grand finale so to speak is at 5:20pm at Neptune's fountain. Are you planning to see the Chateau as well? You only need reservations for the Les Grandes Eaux if that is all you are doing. You can purchase a Forfait Loisir that includes entrance to the gardens. I know there are other package options as well, I just have used the Forfait Loisir. The fountains only run on the weekends. |
The fountains are great and it is well worth planning a visit to Versailles on a day the fountains will run.
It will start at the fountain closest to the palace. Since the fountains are fed by gravity, the water sort of makes its way around to all the fountains. You won't have any trouble seeing them all. You'll see people sitting around the Neptune Fountain waiting for the grand finale. It makes a great day! I could be wrong, buy I believe the 3:30-5:30 schedule is ALL the fountains. |
According to the website, 3:30-5pm is all the fountains.
"La Grande Perspective et tous bosquets et Bassins" - ie all the groves and pools. The fountains were my favorite part! Here is the website (in French): http://www.chateauversaillesspectacles.fr/ |
This is wonderful! Thank you all for your information. I am really looking forward to it.
