versailles bathroom tip

Hi- We just returned from a Paris vacation(yum!) and want to pass on this tip for those who are visiting Versailles. If the line to the main bathroom is very long, head over to the cafe (on the right of the square) and use the toilette there. The line never seems long and the bathroom is clean. Then you can also pick up a snack and a drink and enjoy your visit.

Did you do anything else in your trip besides finding a bathroom with a short line? :-D

Here is another tip: if the lines to the toilet are too long, take a wazz or a dump in one of the fountains.

Cheers

Why would you want to take a bath in Versailles?

You know, I was just there and this situation isn't funny. If you arrive on a tour, you have limited time to see the gardens and use the facilities before going inside. The line for the women's bathroom on the left is hugely long and slow-moving. There was no way I was going to make it before my tour was to start. Finally I gave up and pleaded with our guide for another option. She sent me to the cafe bathroom also but the line was getting long and I held up my tour. Make every effort to arrive at Versailles....uh....prepared!! I was annoyed at having such a huge tourist attraction with hordes of people and only 2 women's bathrooms. They could at least set up some porta-potties in the summer in some discreet location.

It's then time to head for the men's room. Post a 'lookout' if need be.

also, there are public W.C. at the beginning of the Grand Canal, next to the bike rental place.
