Versaille

Hi y'all! Will be in Paris on the last week of September and planning to take a tour to Versaille. Anybody know if there are still renovations going on?

There are always renovations going on at Versailles, but if you're asking about the Hall of Mirros, I believe that's completed.

The official website will tell you what's under construction/renovation: http://www.chateauversailles.fr/

I was in Paris this past April and our day trip to Versailles was one of my favorite days. We did not do an organized tour, however, we took the train there (could not have been any easier) and used our Museum Pass to bypass the super long line. We did have to buy a separate ticket for the gardens because it was a Sunday and the fountains were on (the reason we went on that particular day). I am not sure what the fountain schedule is for September, but it is definitely worth finding out!

When I was there in August, the Hall of Mirrors was open, but renovations were still going on at the far end. It's so huge, and so crowded, that it took several minutes for me to notice this! The Emglish version of the web site does tell about these renovations, but the French site gives a list of areas that are/will be closed. If you don't read French, look under "Fermetures" and there'll be a list of rooms and dates (Dates obviously being bilingual!)It's dazzling, anyway, and there are so many rooms there'd certainly be plenty to see.

I was there in July, and only the very, very end of the Hall of Mirrors is being renovated. It's a small section and with the sea of people, it's hardly noticeable, as McAllister said.

You are allowed to enter and tour the Petit Trianon but part of the exterior is covered up for renovations.
