Verona Hotel for ~$200/night?

I've checked around (for July 20-21), and have ranked (available) hotels in central Verona as follows so far: il Torcolo, San Luca, and Boscolo Leon d'Oro. Can't find anything on Accademia or Victoria. Any suggestions/help?

Are you there for the opera? We have stayed twice and loved the Gabbia d'Oro, but on opera nights it will be out of your price range. If not there for the opera, can you arrange to be there a night later, Sunday and Monday. I believe Monday is a dark night for the opera and the prices nearly cut in half. Have you found space still available at the hotels you mention? It was my impression that they are pretty much filled opera nights nearly a year in advance.

I've stayed twice at the Accademia. Perfect location within the historic quarter, with quite nice accomodations, large bathrooms, very good buffet breakfast, and a wonderful staff. They arranged us to tickets to the Arena, when Aida was being performed. I'd stay there again, as I've done already.

Surlok

Stayed at the Guilietta e Romeo hotel. (Vicolo Tre Marchetti, 3) Very clean, excellent location to the main piazza and friendly staff. (The hotel was about $150.00 US for 3 people)

We were in Verona last August for the opera at the Arena. Although it is not technically a hotel and so doesn't show up on those lists, the Residence Verona House was one of our favorite stays in Italy. They have a website (www.residenceveronahouse.it, it think. They are not budget lodging, but great for extended stays, families and people looking for kitchen facilities with their rooms. Located in the central old town, across the street from Castelvecchio. About a five minute walk from the Arena.

Mike, I'll be in Verona the weekend after you and just got confirmation, this morning, that I have a room at Colomba d'Oro. Have you tried this hotel? The cost is 192 Euros for a double. (They do request a "cautional deposit" of 164 Euros before Feb 18)
