Verona and Milan hotels
Any recommendations on where to stay-good,budget places ?
|
You need to give a few more details. Do you need a single or double? What is your budget?
|
We need a triple room for 2 adults and 1 child. Our budget around 100 euro per night.
Thank you for help |
And when you are going? Milano hotels can often be very expensive during fair periodes.
Go to e.g. venere.com to see rates, according to the areas, to the time of your stay. Budget (still 3*) hotels I have stayed recently are Augustus (spl?) and Aosta (mini-hotel? was not that mini though). Both are quick walk from the Central Station and I paid between €35 and 45 for single/double rooms in low seasons (August and December). For one night it was ok. For longer stays, I would prefer in or closer to the historical area (where Duomo is). Once, again in low summer season I stayed at Cavalieri, business style but nice 4* hotel, 5 minutes walk to Duomo and paid only €75 for a double room including buffet breakfast but that hotel tends to cost much more than that usually. I found all those rates at venere.com. |
We stayed in Milan at Genius downtown hotel- very good and safe location, good breakfast , near Cadorna station, I think it was around 100 euro.
At Verona - at Novo Hotel Rossi, near central train station; very good and clean room, good breakfast 89 euro |
We are going to be there April 13 to 19.
I have a little concern with a proximity of the Novo Hotel Rossi to a rail station. People on a Forum mention that the areas close to the train stations are not that safe at the night. Is it a true? Do you know anything about Hotel Roxy in Milan or Albergo Arena in Verona? Thank you. |
I've stayed at the Mini Hotel Aosta mentioned by kappa1. It's right across from Milano Centrale.

eurosmilepc, I wouldn't rule out a hotel, simply because of its' close proximity to a rail station. For example, I'd be fine staying near the rail station in Venice or Milan for a convenience factor (altho, it wouldn't necessarily be my 1st choice of neighborhoods). I've not been to Verona, so can't say specifically how that area rates. |
We were pleased with the little Hotel Torcola in Verona.
It is located just off Piazza Bra and the Roman arena. http://www.hoteltorcolo.it/en/index.html We were not in Verona during the opera season, so the rates were low. I think we paid 85 Euro. Byrd |
The Torcolo is a great little hotel
in a super location. We stayed in a double that would definitely be large enough for two adults and a child. |
We stayed in the Torcolo in October and were happy with it. Our double was large as well. We loved Verona and wished we had planned to stay longer than three nights.
Our MIlan hotel, Spadari al Duomo, wasn't budget but is one of our our time favorite hotels. |
Did anyone heard about hotel Arena in Verona?
