Verona 2010 - photographs
After some crazy time at work I finally finished my Verona gallery (from our recent trip to Italy). At first I didn't have very high expectations from Verona, but after just a few hours I started to fall in love with that beautiful place. Verona is easily the most beautiful city I've ever seen in my travels.
To make the long story short, here are the pictures - http://www.pbase.com/olegis/verona Have fun :-) Oleg C. www.Olegis.com |
Fabulous photos! I love the colors. Will you be posting a trip report?
They are gorgeous, especially the color!
I'm hoping to get back to Verona in a year or so for longer than a few hours. Where were you when you took _MG_0490.jpg, the photo of the river, bridge and hillside? Also, where were you when you took the "aerial" photos (331, 332, 340, 342 and 344) and the night photos? A hillside, a tower? |
Oh such beautiful photos! Such an eye for wonderful perspectives. You can see how much you loved Verona.
Just gorgeous!
Stunning! Spectacular colors. Will be there in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures. We were trying to decide between Verona and Padua for next May and the pictures tell us we have to go to Verona!
Fabulous Oleg---as usual.
The glow you get is wonderful---do you always shoot in the late afternoon? |
Thanks all :-)
Delaine, this photograph (http://www.pbase.com/olegis/image/129037168) was taken from Lingadige Panvinio. The "aerial" and night photos were taken from Taken from Castel San Pietro panoramic viewpoint. bobthenavigator - yes, I always try to shoot early in the morning or late afternoon when the lighting is usually the best. |
Excellent Olegis. Did you increase the saturation? Really caught the sweet light at any rate.
Lovely gallery! Verona is enticing through your lens.
Makes me want to visit; funny how similar some of our pictures are from San G, Florence and Siena.
Thanks guys :-)
TDudette - yes, I increased saturation on some of the photos, this is a part of my post-processing routine. |
Same here. I use Paint Shop Pro more than Photoshop. For me, it's more intuitive and, it has an edge enhancing smooth feature that I use a lot. The latest PSP versions are by Corel which bought that software.
Again, super shots! |
How beautiful! Thank you for posting!!
Loved the pictures. You have a great eye.
Thanks again ! :-)
Now I wish I had taken a photography class before my trip!
:-)
Great pictures. Was wondering if you drove a car into Verona and if so was it a difficult city to navigate? Also, would like to know where you stayed. Would you recommend it?
Thanks |
Verona is not very difficult to navigate by car, as long as you stay out of the old city center - other places are pretty modern. In any case a good GPS is always recommended - I use one in all my travels.
We stayed in Porta Palo hotel - it's very nice with reasonable prices and not very far from the city center which is pretty easy to reach by foot (15-20 minutes walk). I also recommend to rent a bike in the hotel - the price is cheap and riding the bike in Verona is fun :-) Here is the website for the hotel - http://www.hotelsverona.it/hotelport...l-porta-palio/ Have a nice trip, Oleg. www.Olegis.com |
Loved the photos - they brought back memories of one my very favorite places. It is always fun to look at another person's photos of a place one has been and know just where the photographer must have stood to take them. It is a shame that so many tourists treat Verona as a day trip - it has so much to offer in all respects.
How beautiful! Grazie mille.
Thanks basingstoke2 and LunaBella. Actually we've been in Verona for 3 days and I feel that it was not enough. Well, maybe next time :-)
I am starting to do research for a possible Verona trip (bucket list), and I have to say your photos are stunning. Now I know we really have to go.
Thanks for posting. We were in verona late last summer for a performanceat the arena but we stayed within walking distance of it. Any city with marble sidewalks can't be all bad
