venicerentals.com

I've done a search on venicerentals.com to get a sense of other fodorites experience with this firm. I have noted that the same Screen Name continues to respond faithfully with consistent positive reviews to any question regarding a rental in venice with this company ( a bit suspicous in itself).

I would like to ask those who have really used this company to provide their experience and to also share the 1 things they would like to have changed about this firms practice.

The apartments shown for rental so far have not shower curtains....here comes the water flowage!

Thanks for your inputs.

What a silly post.

Even if what you say is true about "every" apartment not having a shower curtain (I doubt it), you can't ignore the fact that Diane of venicerentals.com runs one of the largest rental companies operating in Venice today. She must be doing something right.

One screen name alone never tells the whole story. I'm sure you can find plenty of feedback from users of Diane's service because thousands of people have rented one of her properties and continue to return. Experience often speaks for itself.

Well, DAJ, if you are referring to my screen name being the one to have positive posts regarding Venice Rentals, then that is because I DID have a very positive experience with them. With my responses to threads relating to this particular company, I am only trying to help other travelers since I had concerns myself before renting overseas. I also post positive experiences with San Lorenzo Apartments in Florence, as well as Hotel Residence Monge in Paris, and various locations in the Caribbean. So, I can assure you that I do not work for Venice Rentals. If you wish, feel feel free to go to slowtrav.com, where you will find even more people who have had positive experiences with this company. Just take a look at their reviews board for leasings in Italy.

The owners, "Denise" (sorry NYFS, it's not Diane) and her husband Maurizio were very helpful to us both before and during our trip to Venice. And, as NYFS stated, they are running a very reputable company that has a lot of repeat business. I was satisifed enough that I am planning to return in the spring and will rent with them again. I have no doubt that there have been a few people (far and few between I imagine) that have had negative experiences with them, but you will find that with any company in the world.

If you wish to read about my experiences with them, my detailed review of their services (as well as those of San Lorenzo Apartments) can be found on slowtrav.com. I honestly can not think of anything I would have changed about the company's practices, but if I think of one, I'll get back to you.

BTW - Our apartment at San Aponal did, in fact, not only have a shower curtain, but also a lovely view of Venetian rooftops from the shower window.

Ooops.

Statia, thank you for the correction. One of my pet peeves is getting people's names right.

So sorry, Denise.

It's hard to believe, even after a quick once-over of all Statia's replies, that anyone would think corrupt motive.

Dear NYC....

My, my, your reply is vicious and unwarranted.

I have not criticized venicerentals.com but inquired as to the experience of others. As you are familiar with their operation, you knowthe practice they follow of requesting specifics of poential customers needs prior to providing recommendations.

How would you venture to guess what they have sent me relative to pictures and what was shown of the bathroom set up? It is certainly not unusual for the bathing facilities to not have shower curtains. We have experienced this in Italy before as well as France. Having been a reader of this forum for several years, this is nothing new.

Although I have not, and will not indicate who has been consistently providing the faithful reviews, be assured that there has been no indication that I believed their intent was "corrupt".

You should be more careful in the strength of the words you use. If you enjoy being nasty, take it somewhere else.

Statia, there was no offense meant for you to take.

Regards,
DAJ

Quite honestly, no offense taken DAJ, and I'm sorry if it seemed that way for that was not my intention.

I hope you have a fabulous trip to Venice, no matter whom you decide to rent with.

Good luck.

Calling your silly post "silly" is being "vicious?" Oh, honey, you need to get out more. I have no apologies for my response to what you wrote.
