Nice trip site. I like the way you arranged the photos and text. Is it a yahoo site? Would love to set up something like it.

That was BY FAR one of the BEST trip reports I've ever read on this board and VERY professionally done. I'm glad you had a wonderful trip in spite of your cold. Thanks for sharing !!! Mike

Beautiful pictures - great report. I'm so proud of you doing the trip by yourself. I love to do that too!
Hope by now you are feeling Much much better!

Beautiful photos--I'm so glad you shared them. The information you provided will help us when we make our first trip there in October.

Wow! Thanks for the nice replies! Was not expecting it...

I am glad I went to Venice... I like to do things the unconventionnal way... I wouldn't have gone to Venice with a boyfriend... On my own was different! :)

And donco, the trip report page was made by me... The photo page is a DAlbum automatic page...

Hello christellefv, I so enjoyed reading your most interesting Venice trip report last night. You have quite a way with words. I have said before that some posters here write better trip reports then most writers for travel magazines. And your photos are beautiful, they made me feel like I was back in Venice. Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip with us. I am sorry that you came down with a cold but obviously you did not let it stop you from enjoying Venice. Best wishes.

Thanx for the info, christellefv. Am going to google Dalbum asap. Good photo sites might be a great subject for a new thread!

christellfv - Thank you for a great trip report. As for the photos - WOW!! As an avid photographer I cant wait for my trip to Italy in October.

Also, thank you for responding to my post about traveling solo. Trust me, I wasnt worried about being bored. I actually think I have cut my time in Venice too short.I was thinking it would be nice to meet up with some other travelers and sharing a meal. Speaking of meals, dod you feel at all uncomfortable eating alone?

Tom

Christelle, what's the name of your hotel? The room looks really pretty.

christellefv Jul 14th, 2005 05:32 AM

TRSW, eating meals on my own was the thing I liked least but I didn't feel uncomfy... As long as I was not the only one on a restaurant's terrace it was fine!

LAwoman, it was Hotel Anastasia.

And everyone, thanks again for the positive/nice comments!

Thanks for letting us read about your trip and for showing us your beautiful photographs. I especially like the ones that include both shadowy places and sunlit places -- (one canal view in particular). Tell me, please, what kind of camera you used. J.

sandi_travelnut Jul 14th, 2005 05:55 AM

Very nice pictures..oh, and the "water thing" is called a well.

christellefv Jul 14th, 2005 11:18 PM

jmw44, I use a very basic digital camera, Canon Powershot A60! I bought that cheap one because I didn't want to have to worry about an expensive camera falling or getting scratched, etc. Suits my needs for the moment! And allows me to take tons of pictures!!

sandi, ah yes! A well... Of course! Thanks! :)

Christellefy: I so admire your spirit! The report and the pictures were well thought out and captured your trip. Loved the idea of being in San Marco early am and alone. awesome. Have had that same experience myself and your photo near the gondolas before leaving for the airport was beautiful. Thank you so much for a wonderful, thoughtful and honest report.

Thank you for those beautiful pictures and trip report. I do hope you have an edit program and can add music and a voice over to the pictures and burn it to a DVD. What a wonderful way to sit back and remember.
You really have a great eye!
