Venice transportation from airport to hotel
What is the best way to do this? We have a 74 year old woman with us and quite a bit of luggage so walking a couple of blocks is out.

Water taxi may be your best bet but it will cost you! Is your hotel by a canal, if not, walking may be unavoidable? Also walkiing in Venice is one of its many pleasures. Have fun!

Hi CF,
>We have a 74 year old woman with us and quite a bit of luggage so walking a couple of blocks is out. < How about if you carry the luggage and let the 74 year old woman walk? :) If your TC has difficulty walking a couple of blocks, you might want to reconsider Venice. It is a walking town and there are bridges all over. ((I)) |
Is the problem the luggage or the woman? If the luggage, can you arrange with the hotel to have a bellhop meet you at the landing point or train station? If the woman, a wheel chair also? ((*))

We're going on a cruise so we'll probably have at least 2 suitcases each. She can wheel the luggage that far, it's just not ideal. I could wheel her luggage but I'd have to make 2 trips because I'll have my luggage as well and I can't maneuver 4 big bags plus carry-ons.
The hotel isn't on a canal. |
Hi Cf,
Can you have the cruise line hold your luggage? If you will be in Venice for 2 days or so, you could store it at the train station. I'd ask the hotel for directions via water taxi to the nearest landing point. Cost is about 85E for the boat, not pp. ((I)) |
We used a private car pick-up service which was 60 Euros for two of us. They were great to deal with by e-mail and very professional. Highly recommend them. www.venice-limosine.com
