Venice Train Station

Is the Piazzale Roma "bus station" on the island close to the Santa Lucia Train station?

Also wanted to know how to get from bus station to the train station?

Last question ... would the Train station be open on April 6th (Good Friday)??

Thanks again

Piazzale Roma is near to the Santa Lucia train station. On arrival, you can pretty much see the train station across the Grand Canal. You can look at www.multimap.com or www.mappy.com to get a better idea of how to get from one to the other. Not sure about your last question regarding Good Friday. Usually, the train stations are open on holidays; there just may be limited service to certain locations.

You can walk from Piazale Roma to the train station - it will probably be VERY crowded and across a good sized (numeruous stairs) bridge. I would not think the train station would be closed - you can look on the Trenitalia web site - if the trains are running the station will be open.

The station (meaning some service providers, shops etc.) might well be closed. It doesn't mean tha trains are not running, just that you have to prepare your in-train lunch the day before.

You can take the vaparetto from Piazzale Roma to the train station, too. Believe it's one stop away.

Thank you all for your replies - much appreciated!

Good tip about getting all prepared the day before.
