venice to lucca by car

we will be travelling with my two older teens and driving to lucca from venice. Any suggestions to break up this long drive during the day. We will be visiting Florence later in our trip so we won't be stopping on the way through.

Sorry misspoke. Venice to Lucca.

Would the teens have any interest in Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini or Ducati? Slight detours could take you one of the museums. Pagani offers tours inside their production area.

Thanks Jean. That did spark some interest in my son (19) and even my daughter (17). I will look into that. I am also looking at some markets along the way, just to break things up.

Bologna could make a nice lunch stop, but parking is a pain.

IMO, Bologna's too big for a quick stop. Parking and traffic aren't the only problems. You have to avoid the ZTL too.

Modena is a smaller town with an even smaller ZTL. If the Enzo Ferrari House and Museum are of interest, Modena would make a good half-way stop. The Museum is outside the ZTL and has free parking as well as a small cafeteria.

(The outlined area is the ZTL. The museum is a few blocks NNE from the parking at Parco Giardino Ducale Estense in the upper right corner.)
