Venice to Florence
Is it practical to take the train for one day of sightseeing in Florence.
|
I hear it's 3 hours each way, so it wouldn't seem so to me.

Just my thought on it. Maybe go for 2 or 3 days?
|
Practical? Worth it?
that's up to you.
you can check the train schedules at
fs-on-line.com
If you've always dreamed of seeing something in Florence and this is your only chance for a while, then go for it.
I'd hate to see you shortchange Venice though.

Florence and Venice are both worth two days each and are far apart. Day trip doesn't sound so good.
|
Do-able? Technically, yes. Eurostar trains will get you there in just under 3 hours. It certainly will be a very long day. And if your plans include going to the Uffizi Gallery and/or Accademia (David), then it's worthwhile to get reservations ahead and avoid long entrance lines.

If it's a daytrip that you're seeking from Venice, then I'd suggest you consider Verona. Alot closer than Florence.
