Venice Tide Info

Does anyone know of an online site to get tidal information for Venice? High/Low times.

Hi Rick,
Will you be boating, or are you concerned about high water flooding?

These are good places for reference.

http://www.comune.venezia.it/maree/oggi.asp?F=nf_b

http://www.veniceword.com/weather.html

Hi

There are virtually no tides.

Water level is influenced by wind and air pressure.

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com

Wrong, Peter
The city is in a TIDAL BASIN and is completely affected by tides and the moon phase. Was just there last spring and had to wade back to the hotel.
Concierge explained all. It is interesting, though.

Hi

Tides, as I understand them, are caused by phases of the moon, and time of year.

They are most noticeable where large oceans shallow near land. They result in typical water level differences of 10m (33ft).

The Med, (and the Baltic) have little tide.

Note I said "virtually" no tides.

High Med water levels are more influenced by air pressure and wind.

Why did I answer this question ? I used to live on the Baltic, and now live on the Med. I have a sailing boat here. Knowledge of tides is part of navigation.

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com
