Da Fiore - - search this forum for various also-rans; they're mentioned on several of the threads that you'll retrieve by searching "Fiore".

And congratulations on your new life in marriage.

Best wishes,

Rex
I think Fiaschetteria Toscana has the best wine list I have encountered in Venezia. Filled with unusual and well selected wines with few pretensious or overpriced selections. Ask for Roberto to help you with your selection. he also buys the cheeses and its the best cheese course I have had. Not the most romantic place in Venice, its got some of the best food simply prepared. Mostly stunning seafood.

Sean,

A wonderfully romantic place for lunch (I'm talking about the 3 hour kind of lunch!) is the Locanda Cipriani. It is on the island of Torcello and you take a boat there from in front of the Danielli hotel. The restaurant is one of the most romantic, serene, and remote places in Venice. Even better if it's raining!

My husband and I were there a few years ago and I have recommended it to several friends for special romantic occasions. Everyone agrees it is a highlight.

Here is some info. from the Karen Brown website:
http://www.karenbrown.com/italyinns/locandacipriani.html
There is a link to the Locanda Cipriani website at the bottom of the page as well.

Happy Honeymoon!

Sean
Go buy the current issue of the Wine Spectator at your newsstand or liquor store. It features Venice among other places. Da Fiore is in there, as is the restaurant in the Cipriani hotel on Giudecca, next to the main part of Venice. At Da Fiore I had one of the best meals of my life.
The Locanda Cipriani on Torcello is lovely as well, I love it for lunch on a beautiful day so that
I can sit on the terrace and view the flowers in the garden.
Also very well thought of in Venice is Antico Martini. No views to speak of, but very beautiful restaurant, gourmet food.

La Terrazza on the top of the Danieli Hotel offers gorgeous views of the lagoon and San Giogio Maggiore. You sit on a terrace on the 5th floor and it is quite spectacular.

We had three nights of our honeymoon in Venice last August. An incredibly, wonderful experience. We had dinner at Antico Martini and Harrys. Both were great.
