Venice restaurants
We'll be in Venice for four nights in early September. Now and then, on our travels abroad, we come across memorable restaurants and we're hoping for an addition or two on this trip. We're considering the following, but welcome comments and suggestions of other worthy choices: La Bitta, Riviera, Algiubagio, Parerga Oliva Nera. Food quality, warmth of welcome, ambiance, and setting are most important to us. Fancy/formal is least important. Budget is not an issue.
We look forward to your thoughts. Thank you.

We got lost in Venice last time and found two really great restaurants....don't remember the names. Now in two days we will be back there again. Our goal is to find those restaurants again...or some new restaurants. My advice....just get lost and find something that feels right.

La Bitta is really good homey food with but they have no seafood on their menu. I've eaten there many times and always enjoy it. Not expensive but you have to reserve. They only have 2 seatings a night. Wine recs from the staff are a great value.
I was to Riviera once, years ago but they have since changed owners. Gorgeous view from their terrace.

My husband and I discovered Corte Sconta in he early 80's and have been back every trip since. Reservations necessary…. if it's good weather it's lovely to sit in the courtyard. It's fun trying to find the place too!

We love Oliva Nera. It is very very good; outdoor tables are fun, but inside is nice too. Amazing fish and wonderful desserts. I would probably say that Oliva Nera is our favorite in Venice.
We also had an outstanding meal at Antica Osteria da Gino in Castello. Very warm welcome, lovely place, delicious fresh food. Way off the beaten track but wonderful. If you're looking for something a bit more quiet and even romantic this is a great place.
I can't praise these two places enough. We have been frequent visitors to Venice, and may not go back again at this point, but if we do, we will visit both of these places.
