Venice Restaurant for larger group
We'll be in Venice for several days in late June with extended family group -- 7 of us at first, then 12. Looking for restaurants with good food and a fun atmosphere we would not ruin as a large (but not too loud) group (i.e., the wonderful recommendations for romantic spots will be saved for another trip). Thanks.

I think I'd go for Aqua Pazza or its cousin, Masaniello, in the next campo over.
|
If you go to Aqua Pazza, check your bill very, very carefully before you pay it.

Taverna San Trovaso and Casin de Nobili in Dorsoduro would be good. They have plenty of room and something for everyone. Al Nono Risorto in Santa Croce is good choice.
Where are you staying? |
Hello dedlaw, I am posting the English language version of the website for the AllaMadonna which is right by the Rialto Bridge for your review.
It can handle large groups as I have eaten there with Italian friends when we had oh about ten people. It is known as a fish restaurant but they also serve non fish/seafood items. http://www.ristoranteallamadonna.com/eng/locale.htm |
I second Alla Madonna! Great food and atmosphere, but I do not believe they take reservations which may be a problem for a group. On the other hand, maybe they do for large groups.

I'm going to "Corte del Remer" for lunch with a group of 16 next week. I'll post a quick trip report at the end of May.

I second Casin dei Nobili in Dorsoduro! We have eaten there a number of times. The last time there were 10 of us and we ranged in age from small children, teens, adults, to grandparents. We had a fabulous meal that everyone enjoyed, including the little ones.

I passed by Casin dei Nobili last week. Isn't it the one, coming from the Accademina, located by a small bridge just before Campo San Barnaba, isn't it? I noticed this time, the restaurant had an area with no roof with more than 50 seatings at least. That would be nice for the warm weather.
