Oh yes, I saw Singapore's contribution as well. And I liked the Portugal entry, which comprised these closeups of water dripping very slowly with projection devices.
And yes, I used the Allora & Caldazilla's ATM in the American pavilion. Of course I had to with the lure of organ music and everything! :) |
For future reference, one of the no. 2 routes from San Zaccaria (the Giudecca one) goes to San Giorgio Maggiore.
We also hadn't heasd of the German or Canadian artists before - the latter was I think the only all-paintings exhibition ? (although that's not why we liked it) The Austrian pavilion was divided up by an internal installation into fairly random-seeming passageways and small rooms, with odd paintings, sculptures and videos dotted about - we found exploring it a bit of an adventure. Denmark was quite a lot of different artists working with the theme of freedom of speech. I also used the ATM but found it a bit worrying having lots of people looking over my shoulder ! |
