Venice or Normandy

We're very preliminarly planning a trip for March or April of next year and are deciding between Venice/ Genoa and the Cinque Terre or Paris and Normandy. Has anyone visited these areas during this time? Any suggestions on what to expect weatherwise? Thanks!

I suppose weather has to be a consideration, and you'll find it cooler and more showery in Paris and Normandy than in Venice and Cinque Terre. Temperature in the northern climes will hit highs around 55-60F or so, and will be around 65-70 in the coastal areas of Italy.

But other than the weather I would think you would have to make some very serious decisions about which kind of place you want to visit. The places you named are so different that it's hard to imagine you'd enjoy them equally. So I'd suggest you carefully consider your likes and dislikes more than the weather, which in spring is usually rather unpredictable over much of Europe. Good luck.

That's for the weather info Wayne. We've been to both Italy and France a few times but never in that time of year. My biggest concern is whether the Cinque Terre is too "resorty" or beachy for that time of year, i.e. are there other things to do? My concern arises from the fact that we were in Positano in October and wished the weather was better given that it is a very resorty area.

Italy is safer as far as the weather goes.

Is the Cinque Terre worth going to if the weather is iffy at best?
