Check out the one of the Bacino, when it is daylight in Venice. The naval training sail vessel, Amerigo Vespucci, is tied up there. It looks just beautiful, on Fausto's blog site. Phew, so many ropes to know, to hoist those sails! So many decks to swab, so much brass to polish.

Wow! I just watched the Amerigo Vespucci leave the Riva dei Sette Martiri, and head out to sea. This site is just wonderful.

Today (Sunday in Venice), is the 25th running of the Venice Marathon. You might see bits of that on the web-cams. They're building a pontoon bridge from the Dogana to Vallaresso; we'll see what they do with the water traffic during this period of time. And, the race will go through Piazza San Marco, for the first time, because of the 25th anniversary.

Sure wish I was there to see all this!
