Venice -La Calcina

We are mailing our deposit for October.
Is there any room I should request to stay in..double hopefully non-smoking or perhaps a room I should request not to be booked in?

Thanks once again.

we had the room with the terrace facing Guidecca. It's lovely(now that the construction is apparently over!)

Yes, I've had a front corner double facing the Guidecca - beautiful. I'm not sure if they offer non-smoking rooms (but it was very fresh and clean nonetheless).

I've also stayed in a smaller single without a view (looked over a tiny side canal and to the building next door) and it was quiet sweet as well.

There's a wonderful rooftop patio that you can reserve with the front desk. I hadn't realized it was even there until my travel companion figured it out somehow. Great view!

Robbie, request a front corner room or secondarily a front room. I'm not sure if our room was smoking or non-smoking. The rooms are light and airy, so it really doesn't matter. We were there in October and opened the windows to let the Venetian air waft through. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. I'm envious!

As far as I know, there are no rooms with a terrace at La Calcina so I don't know what PamSF was referring. I know they have a suite in the annex but I've never seen it and I don't know if it features a terrace overlooking the Guidecca. Maybe she can clarify. The windows in the view rooms have a bit of of a ledge suitable for a flower box but that's about it. Rooms # 22 and 32 are the most expensive doubles at La Calcina.

I stayed in a front-facing room that was not the corner room (21? 23? I don't know the number), and it was fine with me. As everyone says, it's light and airy, so not to worry. The breakfast is excellent; do they still have it on the dock in front of the hotel? That was fun to be able to do, but I'm not sure if they still do it there.

The confirmation from Debora stated we would have a lovely double with a balcony overlooking the Guidecca. It does not seem that it is one we can sit out on.
I will request either of those two rooms, NY. Thank-you.

Ask for the room in the front of the hotel with the terrace off to the side. It is, in fact, in the main hotel. You face the Guidecca. The terrace has a table and chairs as well.
