Venice in the Springtime
Hello y'all,
I'll be in Venice from March 24 - April 3 with a girlfriend. We're both 30, first timers to Venice, but experienced travelers. I'd love any suggestions on places to stay. We're leaning more towards B&Bs or a private apartment. I'd like to stay under 100E a night. Please let me know any advice on what part of town to stay in. We don't need anything fance, just clean and safe. Thank you in advance. Happy Holidays! Gayle |
Look at locandabarbarigo.com for a cute place in a great location.

Hi,
For something closer to 100E/nite dbl try the Bernardi Semenzato. It's gotten good reviews here. http://www.hotelbernardi.com/en/hotel.html |
Hi
Location in Venice isn't that critical because it's small, but the most popular districts are San Marco (named for the Piazza) and Dorsoduro (across the Accademia bridge.) However, even the train station district isn't more than a 30 minute or so walk to the Piazza, and that area has many budget hotels. Since you will be there at least at week, an apartment might work out great--look into venicerentals. I have a long file on Venice; if you'd like to see it,email me at [email protected] |
My significant other and I have a March res at a place called "Hotel Alex". It's between Dorsoduro and San Polo.
3 nights at 70Euros/night. This is for a room with NO bath. www.hotelalexinvenice.com Nice website, + the guy who runs the place is very responsive to emails. (this is rare in Italian hotels.) |
You might like to take a look at the Web site of this b-and-b in Dorsoduro, one vaporetto stop before Accademia.
http://alcampaniel.tripod.com/venezia/ Since you are staying for a longish time, Marco -- who is very pleasant and helpful and speaks excellent English -- may offer you a reduced rate, as he did to me when I was there for a week last April. Enjoy Venice! Eloise |
