Venice in August - Rainy

Hello. Has anyone beein Venice during this time of month. I checked the weather and it looks like it is raining all week. Does it rain a lot in Venice during August? Thanks.

Based on the 40 years of data on weatherbase.com the average monthly rainfall in Venice is not very seasonal, with a high of 3.5 inches in November to a low of 2.0 inches in January. August is slightly higher than several other months at 3.1 inches - - a bit more than the 2.7 inch average of July.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi italy2005, the biggest problem with Venice in August IMO is the heat and humidity. But anytime in Italy is better then not going.

Veneto (which Venice is in) has had a shortage of rain as well as snow in the Dolomites. In fact there is a concern that water supplies will become a problem this summer.

When you say that you have checked the weather and it looks like it is raining all week I don't understand. August has not arrived yet. I would go to Venice if this is where you want to visit and just take the weather as it is. In fact some of the most fun times I have had in Venice is when it has been raining. Best wishes.

I have visited Venice twice, both happened to be August. It was extremely hot but did not rain at all. Would have been kind of nice if it did, actually.
