Venice HOtels

what do you think

do a 'search this forum' on the hotel name. You'll find lots of comments form people who have stayed there.

One of my friends stayed at the Giorngione in May, and she said it's nice and cozy, it's set in an old building (but everywhere in Venice is old!). It'a a bit off the beaten path, so the location is quiet, but you can reach St Mark's square with an easy walk and there are restaurantes around. So I think you should be fine IMO.

Batuffolina - where have you been? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's missed your first-hand advice over the past - what? - year?

Hi Holly,
Thank you! I missed this forum too... I have been out a year (boy, time flies!). In the mean while I have got married and I had family problems too etc... hopefully I will be here again as often as in the past! Thanks for your kindness!

BATUFFOLINA, your recommendation of La Forcola hotel in Venice worked out really well for me. Glad to see you back also.

BATUFFOLINA Aug 5th, 2005 09:49 AM

Thank you Will, I am glad that you liked la Forcola and I'm happy of having been of any help. I missed you fodorites and I see that there are lots of new people here.

mgamburg... here's what I had posted on another thread a while ago... I enjoyed the Giorgione immensely, not a bad word to say about them, they alerted us to a train strike 1.5days ahead and held a reservation for us - they knew we would need it! Previos posting below...

They were 3* in 2002, but have gone 4. Absolutely wonderful. Great breakfast courtyard, mints on the pillow, had a tub in our bath, small bar/pool table/internet downstairs - but has truly 'Venetian' lobbies as well... nice neighborhood - quiet & convenient... good luck choosing!
