Venice hotel rec./Padua and Verona question
I'm posting this for a relative who wants to spend a week in Venice and has $250 a night to spend. There will be three of them--mom, dad, and a teenage daughter. What charming hotels would you recommend in that price range?
Also, they want to see Verona and Padua and want to know if they should do either of these as daytrips or if it's better to spend a night in either place. Any advice you can pass along would be appreciated.

I'd suggest renting an apartment if they are there for a week. There are several agencies. Here are a few places. Also check on www.slowtrav.com for others.

www.venere.com for hotels
Verona and Padova can be easily done as dy trips from Venice on the train. If staying at those two places takes away the nights from Venice then day trip. If they want to extend the trip with extra nights, then staying in Verona and Padova will also work well.
