The Hotel Antiche Figure was moderately priced and absolutely lovely. I have a review on Trip Advisor and I believe the other reviews there are real ones. Opt for a deluxe canal-front room.

Our personal favorite is Locanda Orseolo (www.locandaorseolo.com). However, you might want to give us more information on a rough budget per night. Also, I suggest you go to TripAdvisor.com. You will find many reviews of hotels in Venice and they will be listed in order of most highly rated to lowest, with detailed reviews.

Another (new) favorite is the Residence Corte Grimani. It was terrific. Check Trip Advisor - I don't think there is a negative review.

I liked the Ca'Pisani, but it veers into pricey territory. The location is great (behind the Accademia). Perhaps you could book through an agency for a discount.

The Ca'Pisani is decorated in the style popular during the 30s in Italy. Very sleek interiors, even though it is in an historic palazzo. Great jacuzzis.
