Venice, Hotel Londra Palace Question
 

I'm interested in staying in the Hotel Londra Palace in July. I was checking the Amenities and it says " Air Conditioned Public Areas" Does that mean the rooms are not air conditioned only public areas..

Has anyone stayed there. Would like some information on this hotel .

I thought that such a high level hotel would have a/c, but I got curious enough to check

The rooms definitely have A/C as does the lobby & lounge. The breakfast is served outside on the esplanade under a tented patio and the same area becomes a restaurant at night. It's a wonderful little haven from which to watch the passing crowds, street vendors and the artists, not to mention all the gondoliers.

The three different rooms I've stayed in were all beautiful, with fresh flowers and great bathroom toiletries. The staff were helpful & friendly and because it is a "boutique" hotel, it is elegant without feeling so snobby like some of it's larger neighbors. Location could not be better, very close to St. Mark's and all the vaporetto stops are right in front, across the esplanade (San Zaccaria). I always splurge in a water taxi from the airport, which drops you off directly in front of the hotel. Rooms with lagoon views mean that there is ALWAYS something interesting to see, especially the huge cruise ships gliding by morning & evenings. Have a great trip......sorry I won't be back this summer!

BamaB, you have been there many times - have you ever be disturbed by noise at night or early morning (street pedestrian traffic, ferrys, etc) ?

I will stay end of may/early June, on the 4th floor.

Hi Guillaum....was in Guadalajara for a few days. I've always stayed on a balcony suite on the 4th floor. I think there are 3 or 4 of them (413?, 415, 415 & 416). I certainly cannot recall ever being bothered by any noise from the street or from the ferries or vaporettos either. You're really above the noise level I think. There are also very heavy drapes to cover the windows & doors if you choose.

I've also stayed in rooms with balconies on the lagoon side, and I don't remember any problems with noise.

Londra Palace is an excellent hotel, and I would probably stay there again on my next trip.
