Venice Hotel Decision: Can't decide between these 3
 

I am going to Venice the end of April 2008 and although I have plenty of time, 2 of my 3 hotel considerations are very small and particular rooms may get booked. The 3 hotels I am thinking of are Al Ponte Antico, Ca Maria Adele and Londra Palace. I am leaning towards the jr. suite at Al Ponte Antico(sister hotel of Locanda Orseolo). At my other 2 choices I would not be able afford to stay in the top rooms where at Al Ponte Antico I would have the largest room with canal views. The concept rooms at Ca Maria Adele look very cool but they come with a very high pricetag.

I would appreciate feedback from anyone familiar with any of my choices. Still open to other suggestions too.

Thanks. I did read the posts for Al Ponte Antico as well as the reviews on TA. It sounds very good but since it is recently under new ownership I was hoping to get some recent input. I keep reading how great the location is but am wondering if it may be too hustle bustle (crowded, noisy). Ca Maria Adele is in a quieter spot but not sure if that is necessarily better.
I'm sure I will love any of the choices but since prices are so high in Venice I want to get the most for my money.

Trip Advisor has some recent reviews on Al Ponte Antico. I don't think you can go far wrong with Matteo running the place but I would check the reviews.

I think it depends on how much activity you like around your hotel.

Al Ponte Antico is near Rialto so it will be busier.

Ca Maria Adele is beautiful and on a very quiet street in Dorsoduro. Its pristine but as you said - pricey. I would be very quiet and peaceful - about a 5 minute or so walk to Accademia vaporetto and bridge. We stayed at Pensionne Accademia last year and loved it. http://www.pensioneaccademia.it/

One evening I walked around the area near Ca Maria Adele and it is markedly quieter than the rest of town - its toward the tip of Dorsoduro so not a well beaten path to the other sites. Ca Maria Adele stands out - perfectly elegant looking.

I did not like the area around Rialto since it was mobbed but that is personal preference.

I have now added the Metropole to my list and am leaning against Londra Palace. I have a jr. suite reserved at Al Ponte Antico but am daunted by the busyness of the location. I know it's a personal choice; I'm just not sure if I want to be where all the action is or in a quieter spot like the Dorsoduro. I don't mind the hustle bustle as long as I am able to sleep at night. All 3 of my hotel choices receive good reviews so I'm not overly concerned, just want the most for my money. Would appreciate input from anyone familiar with any or all of my choices.

We stayed aat Londra Palace on our first visit to Venice but have not returned on other trips. Although the rooms are lovely, the moment you walk outside you are in the thick of the tourist mobs,and souvenir stands. The rear, non-canal view rooms are best as there is constant noise and the banging of the vaporettos docking right out front at late -and early- hours..I would choose the Dorsoduro location.

We stayed at the Locando Orselo..which was great.. I didnt know they had another.. but the owners were very special.It made a difference to our stay..

We stayed in Dorsodura at Casa Rezzonica. I know that's not one of your choices but we loved it. It was a 15 minute walk to San Marco. It gets high marks from other posters here too.
