Venice .... Hotel Bernardi Annex or Gli Angeli B&B?

Hello to all. I'm thinking of visiting Venice for about five nights next March. Could possibly have a party of four, and have heard these two places are pretty nice and very reasonably priced (between 130 to 145 Euros/night)for families or larger parties.

Just wondering if anyone could share their preferences or dislikes of one over the other. Thanks so much! Ciao!

Can anyone help me with this question? I realize it would be rare to find someone here who has stayed at both, but maybe a local Venetian has some opinions? Thank you.

I stayed at Gli Angeli which I can highly recommend. The apartment we had was very roomy -- nice sized kitchen, big living area with a king sized bed (I think it was actually two twins pushed together) and a small bedroom with two (separated) twin beds. Very clean, quiet, comfortable -- very reaonable and a great deal for Venice. Don't know anything about Bernardi Annex so can't compare the two.

Hope that helped.

Hi,

I'm booked at the Gli Angeli next month and Sonia has been awesome to work with. She's very informative, responsive and just goes out of her way to tackle any concern you may have.

The picutes on her site look inviting and the value for Venice is beyond compare.

I'll post a report when I get back. I am confident that I'll love this place based on the conversations I've had with it's owner and posts on this site.

Good luck,
Linda

Thank you both for your helpful replies. I have communicated with Sonia at Gli Angeli briefly to get some price quotes. She has been very nice via the e-mail.

I was wondering, CollK, could you tell me about the size of the bathroom in the apartment unit? One person in my party is of a larger size and I wonder if he will be comfortable or not.

Linda, I wonder if you'd jot down my e-mail address and tell me about your visit to Gli Angeli when you return? It's [email protected]. If not, I understand and will try to catch your report on Fodors.

Thanks again,
Sandi

Hi Sandi,

I'll be happy to. I added your address to my contacts and I'll give you a full report on the place when I return.

Have a great day.
Linda

I don't really remember too much about the bathroom -- I think it it was a comfortable size -- not really small. I think I recall that it had a farily large, tile shower but no tub --but then again I couldn't swear to that either. We were three women -- none of us very big -- so it wasn't an issue for us.

Maybe someone else has stayed at the Gli Angeli apartment and has a better memory for those kind've of things than I do.

You know what? This morning I happened to find another Venice hotel booking website with LOTS more pictures of Gli Angeli than I had seen on the "official" Gli Angeli website. It was on Veniceby.com. Especially good pics of the bathroom... so I am not worried about that at all anymore. It looks pretty spacious.

Linda, I'd still love to hear your report when you get back.

Now I'm going to try and find some more photos of the Bernardi Annex to compare.

Thanks again

Hello Linda, I would also love to hear your report on the Gli Angeli B and B. We are booked for the apartment next June.

Please post information here at Fodor's upon your return, so we can all hear about your experience.

Thank you! Laurie
