We just stayed for 3 nights at the Ca'San Trovaso in the Dorsoduro sestiere almost smack-dab between the Zattere vaporetto stop and Ca'Rezzonico - a nice walk to the Accademia bridge, short stroll to Campo San Margherita, and nice hop to both of the San Trovaso trattoria, the Taberna & Giardina. We ponied-up for one of the canal view rooms (2 windows!) at 130 Euro/night. The collazione was basic (roll, croissant, juice, espresso coffee), but delivered to our room at a time we'd requested, nice! We had a few skeeters buzz us, but it was nice sleeping with the windows open - the morning sounds weren't a rude awakening as I'd heard on some of the busier canals. btw, you're as close to anything you'd like to see here in the Dorsoduro - in fact a lot closer to the Guggenheim - and you can reach anything by hopping the vaporetto from the Accademia stop.
On a side note - the woman working the daytime desk gave me one of the best Italian lessons I got on this trip: "succo d'aranjia" is more like s-s-s-soookoh dee-arahn-cha ;-) still not sure if I should stick with the "shock-a-trah" pronounciation for the wine! http://www.casantrovaso.com/
