Venice high tides
I have booked a short break in Venice in November. My visit co-incides with a high tide. Should I be prepared with waterproof footwear? Any must see sites/suggestions would be welcome as we are there for only 2 days?

Yes, bring the boots. Last November, it flooded during the first half of the month. From all reports, Venice is still just as glorious when the water rises.
As for things to do, go to St. Mark's Square early in the morning. It's glorious without any people there.
And, in general, just walk and walk and walk and get lost! Really! That's how to enjoy Venice to its fullest!

Exactly what dates are expected for high tide in November? I'm trying to decide what days to go to Venice in October --- can anyone suggest a website where I can find this information?

Grazie.

Couple of years ago we arrived in Venice just after the flood tide had subsided. They had placed some board walks around in St Marks Plaza, but other than that, didn't seem like anyone was put out very much. The sea water actually comes up through the storm drains and floods the lower areas, like part of St Marks Square, but it appeared that other parts of Venice, like the shops, etc, were unaffected.
Our favorite part of Venice was strolling St Marks Square in the evening, stopping at the various outdoor cafes and listening to the live classical music, Vivaldi, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about the flood tide, If its the only time you can see Venice, go anyway.
