Venice: having a good time

I've been here for over 2 weeks, and have been having many diverse experiences, including a trip to the Emergency section of the hospital.

Today, I saw a couple of ordinary events, which I stumbled across by serendipity.

Come and see what I saw ... http://ytaba36.wordpress.com/

Illness or an accident? Did you cut your hand on those scallop shells?

YvonneT Mar 28th, 2011 04:43 AM

I was greeted by some deadly Venetian bacteria/virus, which has happily taken up squatting in my body! It has slowed me down somewhat! :-)

I conquered those scallop shells, and it was worth it.

Wonderful blog and great pictures. Thanks.

Nice blog and pics. We ate at il gatto nero too, and had a lovely grilled fish, after some very yummy moeche. [baby crabs, usually deep-fried].

I didn't notice that cherub in the Gesuiti, but what about those marble curtains - our DS was very impressed with them, and thought they were real at first.

Hi, everyone, thank you for joining me, and for your nice words. I know I devour anything anyone writes or shows, about Venice, so I'm trying to return the favour.

annhig, the grumpy cherub is in the Gesuati in Dorsoduro. I sure agree about that marble work in the Gesuiti, what artists they were!

I'm STILL feeling Dull and Draggy .. maybe this is as good as it gets???

tarquin, only Spritz con aperol, maybe I should change my taste?

tarquin Mar 29th, 2011 11:38 PM

Not much kick (0%) to Aperol.

Seriously, I hope you feel much better soon, it's no good having your Venice time compromised.

Love Venice, as well.

Regarding those scallops in the shell, also known as capesante: buy them and ask the fishmonger to clean them for you (service offered for free. Of course, a tip is also appreciated.) You will get your scallops with most of the yucky stuff gone but with the half shell for serving.

baby2, my rubbish smelled veeerrry interesting that night! It is such a neat experience to get really fresh seafood to try, what a difference that makes.

tarquin, I must try a spritz with camapri, to see what the difference in taste is. The sacrifices I make for you folks ....
