Venice/Florence/Tuscan countryside hotel recommendations
After much assistance from this forum, I had nearly planned our trip to Italy, visiting Florence and the Tuscan countryside. Now my husband threw a wrench into my plans and says he wants to see Venice too. Now I am thinking of flying into Venice and spending a few days, then taking the train to Florence and spending a few days and then renting a car and staying at a charming farmhouse in Pienza for a few days before flying out of Florence. Any suggestions on hotels in Venice and Florence for about $350 USD per night?
I have already received some wonderful suggestions on places to stay in the Tuscan hills, and cannot decide.....I think availability will dictate. |

If you want your eyes to pop right out of your head -- well, who does? but I meant figuratively -- check out this small boutique hotel/B&B:
http://www.romesweethome.it/full_info.asp?id_im=1995 This is the link to the Palazzo Niccolini's junior suite but there are also double bedrooms and deluxe doubles for less. Just something I'd bookmarked..... never stayed there and probably I never shall, sigh. |
tedgale,
THOSE rooms in Florence??? At THOSE prices??? What's the catch????? |
NOTE: The big drawing room is a sitting room for all guests, not one's private space.
But for those requiring a separate sitting room as well, they do have a suite which is (even) more palatial than the junior suite I bookmarked... |
