Venice - Flooding - Smart phone app.
Flooding in Venice can be a hassle for the unwary tourist. Mostly, flooding happens in the winter months, but this year, 2013, there has been minor flooding in May. The sirens warn if a tide level of 100 cm or greater will occur, but then it can be hard to know what a level of say 110 cm will mean, whether you’ll need boots or whatever.
There is a smart phone app that gives the predicted tide height, and a map of what streets will have water standing in them. The app is called “WVF” (Water Venice Floor), and gives the current tide height, the chart of predicted tide heights for the next couple of days, and a very good map of Venice. Worth a look and downloading.
The map is pretty detailed.

That is interesting, but it is normal to have spring floods in Venice. They were there in May last year. They can come in June, too.
Here, you can look at pictures of June floods in Venice
